Miglianico Golf Course
Located in Cerreto di Miglianico, the golf resort consists of a superbly maintained 18-hole (Par 72) golf course, designed by the prestigious Golf Course architect Ronald Kirby,
club-house, pro-shop, restaurant, swimming pool and of course the “nineteenth hole”, to relax before or after your round. It also boasts comprehensive practice facilities, comprising
a driving range, chipping green and putting green.
Its technical characteristics make the course very absorbing, while its panoramic view ranges from beaches to woods and mountains.
This course will welcome competitors in the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Abruzzo.
The town of Miglianico
This charming, mediaeval town, is perched on a hill-top between two rivers - the Foro and the Dendalo – in the South-East part of the region of Abruzzo.
Sheltered beneath the Majella mountain and located pleasantly close to the coast to benefit from the influence of the Adriatic sea, the town itself is blessed
by a microclimate – giving it relatively limited temperature variation throughout the year, with mild Winters and warm Summers.
Throughout the year in the town of Miglianico and other nearby communities there are local festivals, cultural initiatives and sports events, for example
the “Maglianico Tour” an international marathon and the “Contrade del Piacere” a local festival offering stands where it is possible to taste some of the most typical dishes of Abruzzo.
Things to do…
The local town (5km) of Francavilla-al-mare, plays host to some of the most idyllic sandy beaches, as well as a vast array of restaurants and “trattoria’s” catering for all food tastes.
The Golfcasa is located within 45 minutes of the self contained ski resort of Passo lanciano, located within the National Park of Abruzzo.
The resort plays host to 2 green runs, 15 blue, 9 red and 2 black runs and offers a mix of wooded and open skiing for all abilities. There are two ski-schools.
Furthermore, the most beautiful places in Abruzzo are located within a 15-km radius:
Chieti, a city of art and culture (with amphitheatres, museums, cinemas, theatre, etc.), Pescara, a modern seaside city with numerous opportunities for amusement of various types,
the National Park of Abruzzo, a paradise of flora and fauna, Ripari di Giobbe, one of the most beautiful seaside spots, it has a rocky beach in an inlet with splendid water that is ideal for those who appreciate the tranquillity of wilderness.
Only 5 km from the Golf Casa you’ll find three sports fishing lakes, the Foro river where you can go hiking, mountain biking or for a ride on horseback.
While staying in the region, be certain to taste the well-known Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wine as well as extra virgin olive oil, both produced locally and of excellent quality.
In November there are tasting of first-press oil and “novella" wine.
